Perry tucked a chart underneath his arm irritably. The day had been long, and Jordan’s presence for a single board meeting hadn’t made it any easier. He found now that it was no longer difficult to tune Jordan out while she bitched and raved about whatever insignificant thing that she was fixated upon.

Sighing, Perry slapped the chart against the nurse’s counter. He’d felt awful for days now, though he couldn’t quite explain why. He wasn’t sure he wanted to, and that was mostly because he knew what was going on.

Perry knew, very simply, that it was something he didn’t want to look at yet.

But Perry knew it had very much something to do with the way Janitor tormented JD even more lately, and the way that JD didn’t seem to mind. Perry knew that it was why Janitor had subtlety shifted his attentions from JD.

The torture for the newbie was now gone, and Perry now found himself at the mercies of Janitor. A day didn’t go by easily without his shoes being mopped, or his scrubs pants being soaked through.

Perry grumbled to himself as he changed his scrubs bottoms. They’d been "soaked" by a "mysterious leak" that Janitor had only described as "one of those things".

Perry grunted as he pulled the scrubs bottoms off and slipped on a pair of new ones. He glared at his desk in his small office, and let a wrist pound on it. Something here was wrong; something just wasn’t right.

And it had everything to do with Newbie.

Perry wasn’t sure how, but he knew that this was all JD’s fault somehow. He grunted behind his desk now, and debated paging the kid out of sheer curiosity. Somehow, however, he knew that JD wouldn’t respond.

And that irked him more than anything.

Out of curiosity, Perry exited his office and headed for the one supply closet that he knew "belonged" to Janitor. He went there knowing what he would find and not sure if he wanted to find it.

But as Perry placed his hand on the cold, metal sliding of the handle, he knew he didn’t want to open it. And that was mostly because he could hear the grunted, muffled whispers of two people having it out.

Perry sighed, his hand still on the metal. He shouldn’t have expected his Newbie to wait around forever. He’d missed his chance; Perry thought he could probably accept that now.

It was about ten hours later before Perry really thought about it again. And now, he sat inside his office, hands clasped at his face. A knock sounded on his door, and he only gave a grunted response, too tired to come up with anything more.

This time, however, when his door opened, Perry was surprised to find Janitor entering the room with a dark look on his face.

"What the hell do you want, jumpsuit?" Perry snapped, twiddling a pencil in his fingers. "Did you finally realize that your GED just wasn’t as nice as your high school diploma? Honest to god, frankenstein, I just don’t have a minute to school you on how-"

Perry hissed and inhaled sharply when Janitor shoved a hand against his throat angrily and shoved him hard against the wall. He was still in his rolling chair, his head thumped against the wall.

"I don’t know what the hell you’re thinking right now, but-"

Janitor shoved his mouth against Perry’s mouth frantically, and yanked away. "Glad to know that something shuts you up," he snapped. "He loves you; not me."

Perry stiffened in his chair, and struggled to raise an eyebrow nonchalantly. "And who would you be talking about?"

Janitor tightened his grip in a raging fashion and glared at Perry harder. "Scooter." His fingers lightly caressed the toned skin of Perry’s neck, and his face remained passive. "He loves you."

Perry jerked slightly in the chair underneath Janitor’s hold. "So why are you here again then?"

Janitor looked Perry up and down quickly, his free hand coming up to seal Perry’s mouth closed in a sadistic fashion. His lips curved slightly into a wry, self-deprecating smirk and he kicked the door shut.

"I’m here because he wants you, and I intend to show you what he’s missing."

Perry turned his slightly disinterested gaze up to Janitor. "Really."

Janitor glared at him angrily, and slapped him suddenly and unexpectedly across the face.

"Really."
