Sometimes Jordan swore that the rusty, old music box sitting in Jennifer Dylan's bedroom was the only thing that would get her to sleep. She never understood why--it was so old that the music, the main theme from Swan Lake, would occasionally skip with a sharp, metallic twang, and the gears were so loud that the clicking practically overshadowed the music itself (not to mention the thing was an eyesore). She'd found the old thing at the bottom of a box in her mother's attic, and had brought it home on a whim, at that point willing to try anything to get her daughter to sleep for at least five minutes. She quickly wound it up, and let it play, sitting down in the chair next to the crib and falling asleep to the music box herself.

Half an hour later, when Dr. Cox finally managed to get out of the hospital and home, he was surprised when he didn't find Jordan in bed sleeping when he opened the door to a quiet house. He eventually found her sleeping in the rocking chair in Jennifer's room, and, not surprisingly, Jennifer awake and moving around in the crib. Without waking Jordan, he attempted to put his daughter back to sleep, and smiled slightly when he saw the music box he knew Jordan's mother used to use to put her to sleep when she was a baby. He quickly wound it up, covered Jordan with a blanket, and left as soon as Jennifer went to sleep, intending to get some sleep himself.
